New To Crossroads

We know what it's like to try anything for the first time - the anxiety, the questions, the curiosity... so here are some of the top questions people ask before they visit a church...  How did we come up with this list? We all started off as first-time guests, too! Here are Chuck and Jean to help you know what to expect when you visit:

  • 1. What kind of church is this?

We are a church that teaches the Bible. We use multi-media, a mix of contemporary and some traditional music, and practical messages to present the timeless truths of Scripture in a way that makes sense!  During the week Life Group Meetings are designed to help us grow in our relationship with Christ and other people.  This is the healthiest environment to help people grow inter-personally and develop their spiritual disciplines.  For info about our pastor click here!

  • 2. What should I wear?

Our dress code is simple:  Dress in a manner that's respectful of God and others. We're generally quite casual in our manner of dress. There are some who have very little money for clothes, and we try to be just casual enough that anyone can attend without feeling like an outsider. We don't generally dress up, or intentionally dress down. Casual about sums it up!

  • 3. HOW LONG WILL THE SERVICE LAST?

The fast-paced services at Crossroads begin at 10 and end at about 11:20. A visitor once said, "The time in the service just flies by because I find myself being captivated by the energy of the music and the pastor... and the practical teaching is so easy to listen to."

  • 4. Will I have to say anything, sign anything, give anything, or be singled out in any way?

At Crossroads, you can rest assured you will never be put on the spot, never singled-out, and never embarrassed. We're a family, where we want you to feel loved and appreciated, so that you will want to join the Crossroads family! We don't routinely pass an offering plate... Regular attenders either give their offerings online through our secure giving site, or place it in the Offering Box located by the entrance to the auditorium.

We hope you're able to relax and enjoy yourself. We won't ask, or expect, our guests to give anything back.

If our pastor remembers, he'll probably ask you to fill out an "Info. Card" from the program or "Check In" online. A couple days after your visit we'll reach out to let you know we're glad you came out, and see if you have any questions!

  • 5. is there something for my kids?

We provide NUSERY care for the youngest children from the moment you arrive until the service ends.

"KinderZone" is our pre-K & Kindergarten ministry.  These kids remain in the service with us while we sing.  They usually love that part.  Then we dismiss them along with the grade 1-5 kids and each group goes to a separate classroom where they have activities and lessons prepared with them in mind!

"KidZone" provides an exciting, quality experience for your grade 1-5 child at the same time as KinderZone.  This allows you to maximize your experience at Crossroads while your child is receiving high-levels of care and instruction. Kids love their classes!

We also offer AWANA Children's Ministry During the School year!

Student Ministry: We have a youth group for 7th thru 12th graders. We call it IGNITE.

  • 6. Is this a Christian church, or something else?

Crossroads is decidedly biblical, and we're all about Jesus. that make us "Christian." We're deeply committed to the eternal truths of the Christian faith. The Bible is our one-and-only source of Truth.  We are part of The Christian & Missionary Alliance group of churches. If we ever teach anything that disagrees with the Bible, please talk to one of our leaders... because either we made a mistake (and we'll correct it!) or you heard something incorrectly (and we want to help clear that up!)

Our mission is simple: "Live the Gospel by loving God, making disciples, and loving our neighbors."

  • 7. What time does the service start & how do I get there?

Our Sunday Morning Service time is 10 am.

Our Address is 2810 1st Ave, Perry, IA  50220.  Here's a link in Google Maps!

Take hwy 141 to 1st Ave (or hwy 144) street, and turn north. Crossroads is almost exactly 3 miles North of McDonalds. We're on the East side of the road just before you leave the Perry city limits!  It is a large white steel building. We are the south end of the building. Enter the parking lot off of 1st Ave.
